(what-tah-min-nay-oh) translates to her,his heartberry in shinnecock.
This is our word for Strawberry.
Wuttahminneoh Birth Work was chosen, because to me, it is a symbol of life, earth and its seasons, growth, nourishment and the abundance surrounding it. I see similarities in the responsibilities that Birth Work holds and what heartberries teach us.
There is POWER and BEAUTY in BOTH.
My intentions with my Birth Work is to share my journey, but also highlight others, while being informative and educational, a resource, a connection, a safe space and much more...
I hope through my work my followers are able to understand why this is so important
to me, my people and reclaiming my power.

for a few years prior to my pregnancy, my family traveled to New Hampshire for Dartmouth College's powwow. The year I birthed my son, we didn't attend because it was so close to my due date. the following year we made our way again, Kutshâusha Wussin in tow.
on mother's day in 2017, my dad gifted this gorgeous wuttahminneoh (strawberry) shirt, as a gift for my journey in motherhood.
